Me and Gabriela met Ioana and Bogdan, a beautiful Romanian couple based in London for more than 10 years. They came to Romania that time for their wedding, a wedding we photographed. Their wedding party was one of the craziest we’ve witnessed, their friends coming from all over the world have created an incredible atmosphere.
CARNABY STREET CHRISTMAS ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
It is a bit unusual for me to photograph an engagement session after the wedding, but four months after their big day we met again in London for their engagement photos. Because Christmas was several days ahead we chose Carnaby Street as the location, to feel the magic of December. Surrounded by Christmas decorations and lights, Carnaby Street looked like the perfect background.
If you like the Christmas vibe and you want to plan your engagement photos around it you have to know that London becomes covered in glittering decorations, glowing bulbs and the city gets an instant festive makeover at the end of November. There are other several areas that can show London at its most bling around Christmas, like Oxford Street, Covent Garden or Regent Street, but Carnaby Street’s Christmas decorations are usually the most distinctive in town, always highly original. Even though everything is beautiful, there are two main issues to deal with: it is cold in December and the place is really crowded, as lots of tourists are in town at that time.
Solving problems increases our value as photographers. I love to shoot in crowded places, so one problem was already solved. We fought cold and wind with hot tea and short stops inside shops to warm ourselves.
